In 2022 our church will be prayerfully and financially supporting two sets of PC(USA) mission co-workers, Rev. Cathy Chang and Juan Lopez in the Philippines and Bob and Kristi Rice in South Sudan. These co-workers seek to be the light of Christ and a voice for peace in the midst of suffering. Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance for each of them.

The PC(USA) has been involved in Sudan for more than a century. South Sudan became an independent country in 2011 in an area where conflict and famine have displaced more than three million people. Years of civil war and conflict have traumatized its people, but the region is home to many Christians who
identify as the body of Christ over that of tribe and ethnicity. Bob serves as a faculty member at Nile Theological College where his passion is to empower and equip emerging church leaders. Kristi serves as an economic and development advisor for the South Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church working to equip congregations to improve health and well-being in their communities.
