Welcome!

We’re glad that you’ve decided to visit First Presbyterian Church and worship with us.

At First Presbyterian Church, we are committed to providing relevant and engaging worship, providing quality educational opportunities to all, creating a culture of acceptance where differences are valued and connections to one another are fostered. We believe that God has a dynamic purpose for your life, and having a community of believers around you is part of that purpose. We know that God is doing great things at FPC, and we hope that you will come and see everything that God is doing in the lives of our family.

Worship Services at First Presbyterian
We offer two Sunday morning services.  The 8:45 a.m. service is traditional, with a full choir and songs sung from the hymnal. The 10:30 a.m. service is contemporary, with music from the Gathering Band and words to songs projected onto a big screen.

Children and Youth Ministries
Nursery care is available during both services. “Young Children and Worship,” a worship service for 4 year-olds thru 3rd graders is also available during both services. For children and families who participate in “big worship,” (4th – 6th graders), materials are available that are designed to help explore the worship service in more depth. Shine! is our children’s Bible education program on Sunday mornings between the worship services (from 10-11 a.m. during the school year). Children participating in classes are asked to check in at the Children’s Ministries desk before the service to generate a name tag for the child and a tag for the parent to ensure that children are released to the correct person at the end of class.

Breakfast Club, specifically for middle and high school students, is available at 10:00 a.m. during the school year, but students in that age group are also encouraged to explore any of the “Growing in Faith” classes that catch their interest.

Coffee Fellowship
After both worship services, we welcome you to join us in the lounge for coffee and delicious home made cookies. If you would like, ask about any of the classes we have going on between services from 10:00-11:00 a.m. during the school year, and feel free to drop in!

Growing in Faith Hour
Between the services is a time we call our “Growing in Faith” hour. From 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. a variety of classes are available every Sunday (during the school year). Some are ongoing book or Bible studies, but many are weekly “drop in” classes. We welcome you to join us for any of these classes. Our host at the Welcome Desk can help find the perfect class for you!

Parking
There are several places to park on Sunday mornings. The closest lot (with dedicated handicapped parking) is on the south side of our building, accessed from Clinton Street. We also have a lot east of the building on the corner of Franklin Avenue and Sixth Street. There is some street parking available, and there is always plenty of parking in the county lot located at the corner of Fifth Street and Franklin Avenue.
