Sheron Miller requests prayers for her daughter, Maureen MacQueen who will be having extensive ankle surgery on Monday, May 21 at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. Pray for a successful surgery this time!
We received a request from the Presbytery of Lake Michigan for prayers for Grace Mathews, wife of the Rev. Don Mathews. Don interned here for a brief period and he and his wife still keep in touch. Grace is having some health issues and was recently hospitalized for 5 days. She is now in rehab. Please remember Grace in your prayers and Don also.
Ralph Bicknell had a TIA last Sunday, May 20 as he was leaving church. He was treated at NOCH. Mary thought he would be going home Monday or Tuesday. Pray for peace for Ralph and Mary and complete recovery for Ralph.
The young lady we had on the prayer chain, Sammi Racey, passed away last Sunday afternoon. Pray for this family as they deal with their 20 year old loved ones tragic death.
Eric Snyder and Maryanne Beery would like prayers for Eric's cousin Bonnie. She has uterine cancer and is having a very rough time right now. Prayers are appreciated.
Nancy Lepard sent in a request for prayers this week for Kim Fuller's father, Robert Vincent. He has been having heart issues and it was thought he may have to undergo open heart surgery but he will not. He will need an aortic valve replacement surgery. He sees the Doctor on May 31 and it is expected he will have the surgery about 2 weeks after that. Pray for successful surgery. Kim fully believes in the power of prayer as is so evident in her own life. She thanks you so very much for your support.
eod asks for prayers for her son Scotts wife, Cindy. She will be having an infected kidney removed on June 1st. Pray for success in surgery and complete healing.
Bev also asks for prayers for her son, Rory. He is healing from an amputated ring finger, due to a chain saw accident.
Michele Smith asks for prayers for her daughter-in-law, Sarah. She will be starting radiation treatments soon. She will have them for 6 weeks/5 days a week. Pray for strength and healing for Sarah.
Dorothy Bennink called Wednesday with an update on Marcia D'Oyly. Her knee surgery was more extensive than anticipated. She is at home with help from her step-mother and sister-in-law. I spoke with Marcia last night, (Thursday, May 17) and she is doing ok and the pain is getting a little better. She goes to the doctor for a recheck on Monday, May 21. Continued prayers are so appreciated.
We received word yesterday from Sanctuary at the Shore, that Corky Lawrence is a new resident there. I don't know any more than that but will inform you once Pat goes for a visit. Keep Corky and Russ in your prayers..
We have an anonymous request for a teen member of our congregation who was diagnosed with lupus about a year ago. An MRI done on May 8 showed a malformation on the brain stem so it is recommended the teen see a neurosurgeon. Pray for answers and a good outcome for this young person.
Becky Yonan asks for prayers for Xander Duram, son of Cami and Jason Duram. Xander has a heart murmur and will be going to a cardiologist on May 30 to determine if surgery is needed or not. Xander will be 1 year old on May 17.
Pat Locke received a call from the Steinhauer's this week. Frank's father had a massive heart attack. Prayers for strength and healing are appreciated.
Tina Ramones is asking for prayers for the granddaughter of a friend. Her name is Kyli, she is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The family will appreciate your prayers.
Kathy Garza (Joyful Noise) asks for continued payers for her son Andrew. He is in the military based in Germany and is deployed to Afghanistan often. Pray for his safety. His marriage is also dissolving and he needs prayers for that situation. Kathy thanks you very much.
Vicki Merwin would like you to pray for her friend, Colleen. She survived colon cancer but now the disease has been found in her liver. She has already started chemo. Pray for strength and healing.

Joanne Jansen is asking for her niece's husband, Ken Mast, to be put back on the prayer chain. Recent tests show that a tumor has been growing. He may need to go through bone marrow replacement again. Chemo treatments will begin next week and continue every three weeks through the summer. Pray that the chemo will shrink the tumor, for healing and for God's grace for him and his family.
The update on Dick Race is that he is at Heartwood Lodge for rehab. Pat Locke visited him this week. Continue to pray for healing for Dick and strength for Barb also.
Cheryl Wabeke had her rotator cuff surgery on May 4. She made it through the rough part and is managing quite well. Continued prayers for a speedy recovery are appreciated.
Thank God for a healthy baby girl born on April 26 to Marc and Kristin Felt. It is their first child and they named her Tenley Jane. She weighed 6# 15 oz. and was 20" long.
So great to see Vicky in church on Sunday. What a way to celebrate her 93d. birthday. I know she appreciated all of your kind wishes and being sung to!!!!
Please put Bud and Jeanne Wynne-Parry on your prayer concern list. She has been experiencing a lot of back pain and is currently undergoing treatments. Bud also struggles with health issues. Pray for both of them and remember them with a card.
Pat Locke visited Gayla Kemink this week. While she was there (along with Sue Bradford) Gayla actually moved some fingers. This is good news. Pray for continued improvement.
Phyllis Carpenter will be having a lumpectomy next Tuesday, May 15. She will follow up with scheduled radiation treatments. Pray for peace, strength and healing for Phyllis.
Tom Hill is asking for prayers for his father, James Hill. He was recently diagnosed with abdominal cancer. Pray for healing for Jim and let Tom and family know you are thinking of them.
Tom Cook has asked that Nancy Tomlinson be put on our prayer list. She has a serious and very rare disease called pulmonary arterial hypertension. Nancy is the wife of Paul, who is our Committee on Ministry Liaison and pastor of First Pres. in Cadillac.
Judy Fischer has been having tests done to determine the cause of her TIA's. She had an MRI done at Spectrum and that did not show the cause. She will be wearing a heart monitor for about a month. Pray for peace for Judy, answers as to what is causing the TIA's and for healing. I am sure she will appreciate hearing from you!
Continue to pray for Marianne Lipcsei, sister of Alishia Terrill and also a former member of FPGH, as she has recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Ask God for healing for Marianne and courage to endure.
Cheryl Wabeke's sister-in-law in Florida who has had recurring problems after knee replacement surgery, will not have to have a 5th. surgery as previously thought. She is making definite progress, but slow. The family thanks you for your prayers.
Continue to pray for Larry Braaks' daughter, Susan, who lives in Denver. She had LASIK surgery recently. One eye is healing very well but the other is beginning to develop what could be a very serious complication. Pray for quick and complete recovery. On May 11, doctors decided to perform an operation on the troublesome eye. Pray that this surgery corrects the pain and poor vision that she has been experiencing since the original surgery.
Continued prayers for Brittney Olds are appreciated. She is making slow but steady progress. Pray for patience for her and her family.
Continue to keep Dar Boyer in your prayers. Her cancer appears to be contained in the abdomen as there are no signs of it spreading at this point. Pray it will continue to be the case and her blood count numbers will improve. Dar had a chemo treatment on Wed. May 9th.
Sue Bradford has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She started her chemo treatments on 3/9. Pray for strength, peace and complete healing for Sue.She can use your encouraging words and prayers.
Steve VanderWall continues to recover at home. He has physical therapy a couple of time a week and is determined to walk again. His sister Joanne called me today and said that at the end of June, Steve could use some help, as his sister-in-law who has been helping out, will be having surgery. She wondered if at that time, perhaps some meals could be brought in? (Deacons: but we could all pitch in) She also mentioned that he needs a sealer coat put on the ramp to his house. Any volunteers? Steve would also welcome visitors. This has been an incredibly long and challenging road for Steve, since last November. Pray that he will be able to walk and pray for continued patience for him.
Continue to pray for Brock and Ann Hesselsweet. Brock has non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He has had several treatments. Pray for complete healing for Brock and strength for their family as they go through this with him. He has a good spirit and so appreciates all the thoughts and prayers that go up on his behalf.
Continued prayers for the Chuwan family. Donations are still appreciated for cleaning products, hygiene supplies, paper products or non-perishable food items. I just found out that they need a lawn mower. They so appreciate all that FPGH has done and continues to do for them. Note: Be sure to read the article in the latest Tidings!!!!
Continued prayers for Gladys and Cliff Pfaff. Gladys is now living at Seville Adult Foster Care.
Sue and Bill Roper are doing somewhat better. Pray for continued improvement. They love hearing from their church family.
